Travis Scott Has Been Dropped From Coachella 2022

Travis Scott is officially out of the Coachella 2022 lineup.

The recent development follows the rapper’s controversial Astroworld festival performance in November where 10 people died after a crowd rush. A few days after the incident a petition launched on Change.org to remove him from Coachella’s lineup. The petition now has a little over 60,000 signatures. Variety has reported that sources from the festival told Scott’s longtime agent Cara Lewis that they intend to drop Scott from the lineup. Scott was scheduled to headline the festival. The festival is also reportedly willing to pay the 25% cancelation fee.

Insiders have also revealed that Lewis has tried to maintain the slot, which would have marked Scott’s first return to the stage since the Astroworld incident. Scott countered the news of him being cut from the lineup by offering to play his show for free. However, it does not appear that Coachella will budge on their decision. A multitude of lawsuits has been filed against Scott as well as guest performer Drake and events promoter Live Nation. Scott recently appeared in an interview with Charlemagne Tha God to express his remorse.

Travis Scott was announced to headline Coachella nearly two years ago back in January 2020. There is no word on who will be replacing Scott as the headliner in the upcoming festival.
